What size solar energy system does your business need?

A handy guide for businesses

Solar power is still on its upward trajectory with businesses and homes across Australia taking advantage of this abundance of glorious sunshine. And the fastest growing solar market is commercial energy systems between 75-100 KW. And thanks to solar panels on the rooftops of homes and businesses across the country, Australia now receives 3% of its energy supply from ‘small-scale solar’.

If you have been considering a solar energy system for your business, you might be wondering what size system your business would need. A great way to check what size system your business will need is by collecting your interval bill from your energy provider and analysing the numbers. We’ve written a post on this here and it’s something we can help you analyse if you have the information available. Our post also includes links to collect the information from your energy retailer if you don’t already have access.

A little extra: If your business will need more than a 30kW solar energy system you will need planning permission, so keep this in mind.

“A SMALL BUSINESS CONSUMING 50,000 KILOWATT HOURS PER ANNUM THAT INSTALLS A 15 KW SYSTEM CAN DISPLACE AN AVERAGE OF 33% OF ITS ELECTRICITY USAGE.” (solaraccreditation.com.au)
