A VEEC is a Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate, created in accordance with the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007 – commonly known as the VEET scheme. Each VEEC represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent abated by specified energy saving activities. They are prescribed a monetary value to encourage uptake of energy saving activities.
